Color, Squeeze & Create {12 Days of Sensory Play}
Day 8 – Coloring fun!
Coloring and drawing is a great learning opportunity, even for beginning scribblers. We did glitter glue after he lost interest in the crayons. Scensy markers or scented crayons would add another sensory dimension to this activity. Or try gluing cotton, sequins, buttons to your picture. This activity can be as simple or involved as you make it!
He was intrigued by the bottles of glitter glue. He wanted to grasp, twist, squeeze… and do it all on his own! Then he had just as much fun standing them all up in a line – he kept knocking some over just as he would get the last one in place, poor guy! His perseverance, focus and concentration was amazing.
Start off coloring and who knows what fine motor skill activities will emerge!
A great website for FREE Christmas coloring pages to download and print can be found here. Our favorite is this cute baby Jesus in a manger!
Staple a picture of your kid to their colored page and give as a gift or use as a thank you for grandparents!
