Day 6 – Sensory Bin Play

One simple ingredient that pretty much every household has.  Cups, scoops and measuring spoons.  Hand-eye coordination, concentration and hours of fun.  And vacuuming.  {Did I mention the vacuuming??!}  If done over a hard surface, then your kid(s) can help you sweep up instead with a hand broom and dustpan!  {Why does he always want to transfer the rice/beans/flour to a cup or container that is OUTSIDE of the bin??!}

You can put out scoops, cups and the like OR hide “jewels,” plastic dinosaurs (dino-dig anyone? This would be great in a sensory bin filled with sand), rubber snakes, rocks… theme it for the season or holiday – play sea creatures and shells in the summer, plastic eggs, fluffy chicks, flower petals for Easter; small ornaments, jingle bells, ribbon, pinecones, bits of evergreen for Christmas!
