Maple Rose, the Story of Her Name & Newborn Photo Shoot
The first flower Ben ever gave me was a single rose. A rose that traveled to the other side of the world, around the world, and back!
I think it’s so special that I still have it today… in perfect condition. A symbol of love, hope, patience and fidelity – faithfulness and loyalty to each other over long distance.
A sign that he was thinking of me even when we were far apart. A simple, beautiful, carved wooden rose.
He gave it to me when he came to visit in Malta, when we were still dating. He had made it on a camping trip with his guy friends – one last hurrah before any of them were married! (Now all five are married!)
When he gave it to me and said it was carved out of maple wood, I said, “A maple rose!”
Maple Rose.
A name was born; I thought to myself, the most beautiful name I had ever heard. We weren’t even married yet, but I knew that someday I wanted to give it to our first baby girl. <3
