Blessings of Pregnancy

pregnancy blessings baby bump

I get to wear my hubby’s shirts when none of my own will fit anymore.  Remember back when dating it was so much fun to wear something of his?

I never spill anything on my pants.  (The protruding bulge catches every drop these days.)  All maternity shirts should be designed in multi-colored polka dots or splotches, at least in the belly area, to successfully camouflage the spots.

At least I can still see my toes (albeit having to lean forward).  Painting my toenails is another matter.

I actually have a reason to drag my hubby through the baby clothes’ section in stores.  His eyes glaze over within two seconds and he looks as if he’d rather be anyplace else, but enjoy it!

People are cheering me on for gaining weight.

If I’m hungry, I can get away with eating for two.  If I don’t feel like eating, well then baby is squishing my stomach!

…it will be over!  Baby can’t stay in forever!  Someday I may look back and probably miss these days, and I know people will say think of the ladies who would give anything to be in your shoes, and blah, blah, but day to day and month to month it hasn’t all been a piece of cake or a smooth road to walk.  Not my favorite thing.  And that’s ok.  I love my baby, even if I’m not totally infatuated with pregnancy itself.

The perfect excuse to indulge crazy cravings.  Only wish I had some.

and the best blessing of all (besides a little person as the end result!), is

Feeling our baby move!  Even if those are my ribs he just kicked.  And it hurts.
