Birth Plans

At 37 1/2 weeks, there is not much else on my mind but labor, delivery and BIRTH.  Which means, birth plan.  Needed now!

A “Birth-Day” Party

Apparently with Ole’s unconventional “Birth-Day Party” birth Balloons clip artplan I got myself a reputation and set a precedent that is hard to top!

“This is not labor (work) – at least for the rest of you! 😛  This is a PARTY and baby will be
born – gently and calmly – into an atmosphere
of excitement, laughter and love…”

You can read his actual birth story {and see how close we were able to follow it… or not!}.

A birth fit for a Princess

Today during the blizzard I sat down to write out baby#2’s themed home birth plan, and I’m excited to share with you our hopes for the Arrival of a Little Princess!Princess crown clip art

“A calm, private, beautiful birth for Momma and baby Princess… Royal Tasks to be done by attendants… and including Arrangements for the little Prince

Natural Hospital Birth

It’s actually not the only birth plan she has!  In case of a transfer, or if she would have been born after 35 but before 37 weeks, we’d use our straightforward {read: boring, but necessary} Hospital/Transfer Birth Wishes one.  It’s a great template for a natural un-medicated vaginal birth if you would like to garner ideas from it!

Emergency Birth Plan

Our Preterm Emergency Birth Plan was a hard one to think through and write.  We would have used it from 22 weeks on.  It is also for as natural a birth as the circumstances would allow.

I think it will be fun to make a unique and little-bit-humorous birth plan for each baby!  After the difficult and scary journeys through my pregnancies, it is meaningful to be able to add these special touches to otherwise ordinary birth plans!

Do you write a birth plan?  What is the funniest thing you’ve included in yours?
