10 Things I LOVE about my Husband

Moving away from a more typical he-loves-Jesus and he-loves-me-and-our-kids type list, this is more a personality list.  It’s always good to think of those things we LIKE about our husbands and brag on them a bit! 🙂  I don’t do enough of that so here goes:

10 Things I Love about Ben

in no particular order

  • He cares about detail
  • He has a good hard work ethic
  • He is a Redneck… and proud of it. 😛  When Little Big Town’s song Boondocks comes on the radio, it makes me think of him!  Which is actually the thing that sparked this post today.  Oh my goodness, it’s a good thing we don’t live in an upscale apartment; he’d be fixing the beater truck in the parking lot! 😛  It sometimes makes me cringe, but not him, because…
  • He doesn’t care what people think.  {I wish I could be more like this!}  In the good sort of way, like if people say hurtful or slanderous things about him that have no basis for foundation it doesn’t ruffle his feathers.  He is immune to guilt-tripping.  Drama?  He doesn’t do drama.  He doesn’t get all twisted in a knot when others are doing drama – it’s laughable to him.  It helps ground me. 🙂
  • He thinks the best about people.  Maybe their sour attitude is caused by eating too many lemons and not because they are just grouchy people.
  • He is extremely – EXTREMELY – optimistic.  He can fix the truck, and the trailer, and paint the church, and have family time, and build a house… in a week.  No problem.  And the reason he’s doing it all himself?  Because…
  • He can do anything.  If that doesn’t cover it, and there’s something I missed that he couldn’t do before, he will watch a few YouTube videos on it, read a manual, ask an expert, then attempt it DIY style AND SUCCEED!  With annoying success rates of like… every time!  The only annoying problem with this is that he does not have infinite time. 😀
  • He is really good at training and teaching people – both in his job, and explaining difficult financial or mechanical topics in a simple way.
  • He has great customer service skills and is an expert at communication over the phone.  Working with hospital bills or got a customer who hasn’t paid?  He’s got that!  Insurance claims that have already driven three people batty?  He’s the man!  And all politely and respectfully and winsomely done.
  • He is a black-and-white all-or-nothing kind of guy.  Things are wrong or right, there’s not a lot of gray area.  We have high standards and we stick to them as a matter of principle.

That’s all for today! 🙂  I hope to get updates done soon on each of the kids… Which were supposed to be their 6 month and 2 year ones… now I suppose they will have to be 9 month and 2.25 year ones, haha!
